Hi, all buat teman - teman yang mau belajar tentang type of text ini saya kasih penjelasan tentang beberapa macam text , untuk sekarang saya post tentang Narrative text, untuk type of text yang lainnya akan menyusul di postingan berikutnya,,,,, oh iya jika ada yang tidak mengerti kalian boleh kasih comment atau tulis di chat box yang ada di sebelah kiri atas"Speak up", tinggl masukin aja nama dan email kalian terus kalian bisa tulis  pertanyaan kamu di sana. Narratie Text
1.      Definition & Purpose
Narrative text is a kind of text that tells a fictional story .The purpose of the text is to entertain or to amuse the readers or listeners about the story

2.      Kind of Narrative text
1. Legend : Sangkuriang, Malin Kundang, etc.
2. Fable : Mousedeer and crocodile, etc
3. Fairy tale : Cinderella, Snow white, Pinocchio, etc

3.      Language Features
 1. Use active verbs.
2. Use past tense.
3. Use conjunction.
4. The first person (I or We) or the third person (He, She, or They).
5. Use specific nouns.
6. Use adjective and adverbs

4.       Generic Structure of Narrative text
·         Orientationberisi pengenalan tokoh, tempat dan waktu terjadinya
·         ComplicationBerisi puncak masalah/konflik dalam cerita. Sebuah cerita boleh memiliki complication lebih dari satu
·         ResolutionPemecahan masalah. Bisa berakhir dengan kegembiraan (happy ending) bisa pula berakhir dengan kesedihan (sad ending).


The Legend of Toba Lake


            Once upon time, there was a handsome man. His name was Batara Guru Sahala. He liked fishing. One day, he caught a fish. He was surprised to find out that the fish could talk. The fish begged him to set it free.
            Batara Guru could not bear it. He made the fish free. As soon as it was free, the fish changed into a very beautiful woman. She attracted Batara Guru so much. He felt in love with that fish-woman. The woman wanted to marry with him and said that Batara Guru had to keep the secret which she had been a fish. Batara Guru agreed and promised that he would never tell anybody about it.
            They were married happily. They had two daughters. One day Batara Guru got very angry with his daughter. He could not control his mad. He shouted angrily and got the word of fish to his daughters. The daughters were crying. They found their mother and talked her about it.
            The mother was very annoyed. Batara Guru broke his promise. The mother was shouting angrily. Then the earth began to shake. Volcanoes started to erupt. The earth formed a very big hole. People believed that the big hole became a lake. Then this lake is known as Toba lake.

Reflection on School visit in 3rd Semester

Pada semester tiga ini saya mendapat kesempatan untuk menjadi asisten guru dan mengajar di SMA N 43 Jakarta. Kegiatan yang berlangsung selama dua minggu ini terasa sangat menyenangkan karena kesempatan ini memberikan pengalaman yang sangat berharga kepada saya sebagai seorang calon calon guru.  Saya mendapat kesempatan untuk mengajar di kelas X1, X2 dan X3. Saya melakukan observasi ke dua kelas yaitu kelas X2, dan X3. Saya dan teman saya mendapat kesempatan mengajar sebanyak 9 jam pelajaran sebagai team teaching yaitu di kelas X1, X2 dan X3.
Selama saya melakukan observasi dan praktek mengajar banyak sekali hal- hal yang tak terduga, hal-hal yang menarik yang saya temukan. Sejak dulu yang tersimpan di dalam pikiran saya bahwa semua sekolah yang ada di jakarta pasti sekolah-sekolah bagus, yang mendapatkan fasilitas- fasilitas bagus, anak – anak yang baik, sudah mengenal technologi- technologi modern, dll.  Ketika saya datang ke SMA N 43 jakarta, ternyata ini mengubah mind set saya. Ternyata tak semua sekolah di jakarta menggunkan technologi- techonogi modern,
Pada saat observasi saya sangat kaget dan terkejut melihat metode-metode yang digunakan dalam proses belajar mengajar. Guru pamong saya hanya menggunakan teacher centre learning. Sehingga siswa terlihat bosan. Guru hanya menjelaskan pelajaran di depan kelas sedangkan siswa hanya sibuk dengan aktivitas mereka masing- masing(teriak – teriak, main hp, ngobrol) tidak menghiraukan penjelasan guru yang ada didepan.
Selain itu hal menarik yang saya ingat adalah tentang ICT dalam pembelajaran. Guru pamong saya tidak pernah menggunakan ICT dalam proses belajar mengajar, bahkan gurunya juga tidak pernah menggunakan Flip chart, karton,dll, dalam kelas. Sebuah kejadian di dalam kelas yang kami ajar, mereka bahkan tidak bisa menggunakan glue tax yang kami berikan. Mereka meletakkan glue tax tersebut dibagian depan karton, menarik beberapa bagian dari glue tax tersebut dan meletakkannya pada dinding (seperti Isolasi).  Saya dan teman saya hanya tertawa melihat kejadian itu.
Hal yang paling berkesan bagi saya adalah pada saat teaching practise, sebagai pengalaman pertama untuk mengajar. Saya merasa sangat bahagia karena saya dapat merubah suasana kelas dari sangat membosankan menjadi sangat menarik. Dengan beberape metode dan teknik yang kami lakukan kami berhasil membuat siswa lebih respect, aktif dalam kegiatan kelas. Pada saat kami memberikan evaluasi mereka dapat melakukannya dengan baik. Diakhir kelas beberapa siswa datang ke kami dan menanyakan, kapan kami mengajar mereka lagi? mereka juga mengatakan”mereka suka dengan cara kami mengajar, karena mudah di pahami dan menarik”. Saya merasa sangat senang mendengar komen mereka itu.
Sebagai seorang calon guru pengalaman ini seperti menyadarkan saya bahwa banyak guru- guru yang masih menggunakan metode- metode lama yang membuat siswa bosan ngantuk, siswa menjadi pasive,dll. Jika nantinya saya menjadi seorang guru saya harus bisa membuat siswa lebih aktif di kelas, mempuat proses belajar mengajar lebih menarik, dan  mengaplikasikan penggunakan technologi 2.0 dalam proses belajar.

Reflection on Micro Teaching


            My micro teaching group got a speaking skill, in our Micro teaching we tried to create student-centered learning, because we wanted our students be active and give them chance to think creatively. In our micro teaching we do some activities, firstly, ice breaking we asked them to draw “what’s in your mind?” then we asked some students to exchange the paper with friends next to them. After that we asked some students to explain or guest what is her friend’s picture mean. We choose this game because looks like we want to show them “hey we are going to learn something fun, our class will be interesting, don’t be afraid with this lesson, something like that”. We also think that this activity also related to our lesson that is descriptive text and also related to speaking skill. Then we explain the lesson to the class. Actually we wanted to have a group work for this but we have not enough time so we just explain the lesson however we still used PBL, to let students think first. Then we form a group that consists of four students to make a description of something and let other students to guest.            
            However event we try to do as good as we can, still there something miss and need to be improve. According to me, I think first is about time we haven’t much time to do our micro teaching, So in the explanation we directly explain the lesson, (i mean without group work ) to the class, but still we used PBL we ask them what is the definition of descriptive text to let them think first.
            My group has a chance to do our Micro Teaching in the last. So when other group got input from the other friends we also can learn from that. Like in Ulung’s group, they teach about Storytelling, I think it is really good way to teach a narrative text in different way. From this micro teaching they can teach a Narrative with interesting and funny way. They asked some students to act or do story telling it can make students move from the chair and doing something in the class. However, in my opinion it will be better if they let students to choose or make their own narrative story than they give the story to the students because it can make them to think and create unique story and apply what the teacher explain like structure, language feature, and etc by create the story teacher can see whether the students have understand or not about the lesson. I think it also will be better if each of group act or do the story telling in front of the class “ practice make perfect” so i believe if they act in front of the class they will easily to remember the lesson.  I learn much from this micro teaching about some unique, interesting and meaningful activities in the class room.
